Christmas Season Before

As a child, it is one of the most exciting events every year. We are waiting for that and sometimes, we are wishing to extent the Christmas season. As all we know that Christmas season in the Philippines starts on the first day of September. However, as an adult, it seems that Christmas season is no longer celebrating.

From the early 2000s to late 2010s, Christmas season was the most awaited event every year. I was a child in the 2000s and I was tween/teenager in the 2010s. In the 2020s, this season is not exciting as before. Many people lived in the 1990s said that Christmas celebration was very happy and exciting, despite the fact that Filipinos in the certain decade were simply living.

When I was a child (2000s), this was very exciting. I was excited to celebrate this and I remember that on December 25, I received a lot of candy, toys, chips, biscuits, money, and even fruits. Besides that, we were celebrating the Christmas Eve with a lot of food preparations and we also had family reunion. I also remember during Christmas party. From Kindergarten to Grade 3, I was consistently joining to the party with my classmates. When I was Grade 4, this was the time I first time not joined to the party. I forgot the reason.

In the 2010s, I don't know but it is not exciting as in the 2000s, but it's still it has happiness. I remember that during the first day of September, I was playing Christmas songs, I was preparing the Christmas decorations, etc. I was also capturing a lot of pictures of decorations out there. I was tween and teenager during that time.

In the late 2010s, I was college during that time, I was facing a lot of struggles but I was very optimistic for the next year though sometimes I was filling up with negativities. Before the decades end, it was one of the most memorable Christmas for me. I have a lot of discoveries and I felt the spirit of Christmas during that time. I was travelling a lot of shopping malls and I remember that I was starting to vlog.

In the 2020s, during quarantine era, I realize that this season becomes sadder than expected. I was optimistic and I was believing that after pandemic, the Christmas season become happier and more exciting. But it turns out, I will forget this celebration because of a lot of responsibilities in life. I am now an adult and I have to face the reality that I'm no longer a child or teenager.
